Block Printing with William

Block Printing and Legend

In art, we made these sketches of a legend and we traced it on the styrofoam with these sticks, called dowels. After that, we got some paint and spread it on the styrofoam. Once the paint was on, we got a piece of paper and put the styrofoam onto a plastic board facing up. Then, we put the paper on top of the styrofoam. We rolled the paper and styrofoam together. When we lifted the paper up, the picture was attached to the paper! I did 4 colors: red , white, green, and yellow. While I waited for everyone to finish, I drew a picture of Batman and Thor.

My legend was about these five guys starving in Hawaii, and then the volcano erupted and hit the trees. The guys turned the trees into a canoe and some paddles, and jumped on it and saw a fish on their fishing rod. They thought it was something from the Gods, so they thanked them and ate happily ever after.

My friend Noah and his block print!
