By Emali and John
Last week, we had to study about native Hawaiian plants and canoe plants. We learned that native plants were here from the three W's, which are: wind, waves, and wings. Canoe plants were brought over here by canoes, like coconuts.
It was awesome because some of the plants we studied, we eat in our food and we also grew in
our garden at Winnie.
When researching, we also learned about what the Hawaiians did back then and what they did with their food and plants, like using the plants for medicine too. When we studied the plants, we had to write facts about what our teachers were telling us and what we learned from the books and internet. They told us about how there was a war, how they lived back then, how the had to survive in their little homes, and how they shared their things with each other and with the chief.
